A couple of things have spurred me to write a blog, a while since the last one! The first was passing the 18 month point in my role. The second was the unexpected bill (unexpectedly higher than I forgot it would be too!) for my domain and website. Those two spurs are not necessarily in order! 😉
A good time to reflect though on what has been a fantastic 18+ months.
Whether you knew me before I joined the company or have met me recently, you will get a pretty strong impression that I love my job. My kids think Dad has an amazing job, many of their friends have the same impression. To be fair, when I look back through old posts on LinkedIn and Instagram, I’d think the same too!

Of course I do show some of the highlights and fun stuff. The many hours of me behind a keyboard, clicking open an endless number of PDF documents, reports and policies would look a bit less thrilling 😬 However that’s the proper work – and I love those aspects too, they’re just not as good for a photo or social media post!
I’ve always enjoyed being a Broker, irrespective of employer. However finding a company which I’m totally in tune with is taking me to another level. I have never felt more energised… I wish I could take the credit for it but it’s just the luck of the draw, I joined the best business at precisely the right time.
In my career:
I’ve ever attended so many events
I’ve never travelled so much across the country
I’ve never spent less time in the office
I’ve never met so many interesting and influential professionals
I’ve never met so many famous people!

Our company is all about “boots on the ground”. We are constantly in front of professionals…and never tire of developing our network. We are prolific hosts and guests, at a diverse range of events and networking groups.
Never two days the same, never a lack of interesting things to look forward to, never a lack of opportunities to professionally develop…and never out of petrol stations!
Do get in touch, wherever you are in Scotland, if you need a helping hand with your Business Insurance. Whether an SME or large business, my approach is the same – and I have an embarrassment of riches behind me in terms of resource and expertise.

Our business has 22,000 employees, a major global Broker – it would be more difficult finding a business I can’t help than one I can 😉
