That’s the holidays over for the year…and from a work perspective, I’m not complaining!
A pleasant holiday was had in Tenerife but that’s enough of the warm weather for me 🥵 It was very toasty over there!
I like the change of seasons and if totally honest, I’m always ready for summer to end! At work it has been a good July to September quarter…but I do struggle with the warm working days, I always have.
A week back since my holiday and I’m raring to go again. The next two quarters in particular are my favourites, let’s be honest there is little distraction! ⛈️ 💨 & ❄️ for months on end, a great time to be a non-manual worker 😉

- An afternoon at Edinburgh Fringe with our friends at wbg.co.uk to see Gyles Brandreth – who was wearing one of his famous jumpers 😊👇
- An evening at the Business Beats Cancer dinner in Dundee, as a guest of azets.co.uk
Since returning last week, straight into the events again 😀
- A full day at the www.forthandtayoffshore.co.uk event in Dundee – interesting presentations and tours of the coastrenewableservices.com Training Centre and also a coach trip to Port of Dundee ( forthports.co.uk/our-ports/dundee ). So much going on in Dundee and East of Scotland in Offshore Wind, great to hear 😊
- The joint dundeeandanguschamber.co.uk and http://fifechamber.co.uk Dunhill Breakfast event in St Andrews. A great event as always, new business connections made…and plenty of celebrities spotted on the course (three of whom hit drives from the 11th tee which even I could better! 🤭)
The exciting part of my business development and networking effort going forward is the fact I’m no longer driving our business in Dundee & Angus on my own. Our company has invested heavily and the local team has mushroomed from one to four in a matter of weeks!💥 I’m now joined by a fellow Account Executive, Development Executive and Senior Account Handler!
The difference this made last week is incredible. We had three in attendance at Forth & Tay Offshore and two at St Andrews. The only reason for two at St Andrews was the Development Executive developing connections elsewhere at another high profile event. And our new Account Executive was at another Chamber event earlier in the week 😉
So that’s the bar set in terms of local engagement…very high!
We’re all up for it and ready to drive the business forward at pace. As a very visible team across Dundee & Angus, if you’ve not engaged with us yet…it’s only a matter of time.
Lots of doors opening and with the significant influence our company has in the insurance markets, backed by outstanding resource and a client service ethic second to none, there is a lot to look forward to.
The winter coats will be coming out very soon…but our local team heating up nicely, it’s set to be a fun few months ahead.
